The Perfect Equation: Courtney & Clayton
Courtney Ward, of Martinez, GA, and Clayton Eichelberger, of Albany, NY, met in math class during the first semester of their Freshman Year at Hampton University. With a number of mutual friends and after seeing each other a lot around campus, they began dating during their junior year. After dating long distance for a year while Clayton was in Law School in Georgia and Courtney was in Graduate School in Syracuse, the couple reunited after he came to New York to take the bar exam and she moved to upstate New York.
They got engaged on September 28, 2014 at the Empire State Plaza in Albany, New York. Their magical day began with apple picking with his Mom and Sister. Clayton snuck away early to get ready for a "dinner hosted by his office." While she got dressed, he laid out roses and a candle on the Plaza and proposed in front of the reflecting pool. After she said, "Yes," they celebrated with a nice dinner.
Once the wedding planning began, Courtney and Clayton decided they would tie the know on November 21, 2015 at New Zion Baptist Church in Williamsburg, followed by a reception at Williamsburg's Colonial Heritage Golf Club. The inspiration for the wedding colors and flowers were the time of the year - the beautiful season of fall. The leaves would be changing colors during this time and the couple wanted the wedding to reflect that.

"I also wanted to make sure it had a classic but sophisticated touch," said Courtney. "I knew shades of tan and burgundy were perfect for fall, and touches of green, peach and ivory would help soften the look so that it would still look bridal and romantic."
Courtney and Clayton had a beautiful day celebrating with friends and family.
