This chilly weather has us dreaming of warmer temperatures, and we're so excited to share a beautiful Williamsburg wedding from June with you! Paige Backus, from Chesapeake, VA, and Aaron Kinnison, from Ft. Collins, CO, were married on June 17, 2017 at the Pettus House at the Kingsmill Resort.
Paige, an Emergency Mental Health Clinician, and Aaron, a Navy Veteran and mechanic for McClung-Logan, met through a mutual friend, Iantha Yager, who served as Aaron’s groomswoman at the wedding. "We fell in love over drywall and renovating my bathroom in our home and began dating shortly after meeting," said Paige. The couple later got engaged in July 2016 in an intimate, private evening in their home -- all planned by Aaron.

Next, began the planning for their big day. The flowers and color scheme of the wedding were inspired by Paige's travels and love of the Ritz-Carlton luxury hotels and resort. Right away, she knew that she wanted something classic and black tie. She presented different ideas from Pinterest that we brought to life - mixing elegant roses, peonies and stunning phalaenopsis orchids. "I think that lighting makes your setting and we attempted to create and intimate black tie evening with our closest friends and family," said Paige. "By intertwining lush flowers and lanterns, my thoughts became our wedding day."
Sadly, both Paige's grandparents passed before her wedding -- and her grandmother passed less than two months before. She shared, "Morrison's created a floral vase for me to take to my grandmother of all of the flowers we would be using in the wedding for her to enjoy during her last days." When asked about a unique moment or memory from their special day, Paige said, "One of the most beautiful memories I have from our wedding day was looking out of the windows and seeing everything come to life and finding two cardinals looking back in the window. Some say that cardinals are the spirit of people from our past who are coming to visit or check on us and I know that this was true for me."
Congratulations, Paige and Aaron! We wish you a lifetime of love and every happiness.
