Fall in Love with this Williamsburg Winery Wedding

Bryan Hooker, of Williamsburg, VA, and Christy Hooker (formerly O'Neal), of Chesterfield, VA, were married on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at The Williamsburg Winery and had their reception at The Williamsburg Golf Club.

Bryan and Christy met while they were in college at Liberty University through their roommates. Despite a not so good first impression (according to Christy - she was in loungewear and multi-tasking working on homework, listening to music and eating dinner), Bryan had his eyes set on her and reached out to her roommate later in the evening to see Christy again. They went bowling and then their first date was seeing Lion King in 3D. The rest is history!

After four years of dating, Bryan proposed. "The proposal was very unexpected at the time," said Christy. "We had been discussing engagement rings throughout the year prior, but never did we discuss when he would pop the question." One of their traditions is taking a trip to Virginia Beach each year to see the sunrise in January - no matter the weather. On a cloudy and freezing cold day in January 2015, Bryan and Christy headed to the beach. After trying everything to get Christy out on the beach, they finally met up with Bryan's best friend at Starbucks. As soon as his friend got their camera, Bryan was down on one knee. Christy said, "Up until the wedding day, it was the most magical moment of my life!"

Not only are Bryan and Christy partners in life and love, they are also business partners. Together, Bryan and Christy run and operate Events by Truly Yours, LLC. "We love what we do, and we are so blessed that we can share this company with each other, "said Christy. "Our favorite part is being able to work on it together." Together, they also planned their special day!

As for wedding inspiration, Christy was inspired by a ring bearer pillow she made in college and had many ideas before she was even engaged. She loves royal purple and had her heart set on a fall, outdoor wedding, but she said the most challenging part was picking a location. "I wanted to incorporate the autumn leaves into our decor, but not let it outshine the elegance of the rich purple tones," said Christy. She turned to her something old, which was her great grandmother's pearl necklace, and wanted to have pearls and lace everywhere. As for flowers, the inspiration began with a photo of a bouquet filled with deep purple calla lilies.

Bryan and Christy had so many beautiful details incorporated in their special day. Did we mention it was a brunch wedding, instead of an evening wedding, with pancakes?! An extra special memory was when Bryan's best man, a talented singer and performer, sang "Prince Ali" from "Aladdin" during Bryan's entrance (Christy is a big Disney fan). Christy didn't see it first hand but said everyone could not stop raving about it.

Congratulations to a beautiful couple, Bryan and Christy! We were honored to be a part of your celebration and wish you lots of love, joy and many laughs always. The lovely photographs from their special day are by the very talented, 88 Love Stories.
