A Gorgeous, Rustic Celebration - Jennah & Sam

Meet the Hulls! Jennah, a 6th grade science teacher from Williamsburg, VA, and Sam, an environmental consultant from Chester, VA, were married at the Vintager Inn in New Kent on August 7th, 2016.

The couple met through mutual friends at Longwood University, where Jennah received a Teaching Degree and Sam studied Biology. However, Jennah didn't originally go to Longwood. While she was attending Radford, she travelled to the school to visit friends and as fate would have it - Sam lived on her friends' hall. They met and she ended up transferring there for her sophomore year. "I swear I transferred there before we started dating," said Jennah. "He was just a perk of transferring to Longwood!"

After four years of dating, Sam completely caught Jennah by surprise the day after one of her best friends' weddings, and proposed at York River State Park. It is their favorite state park and they had walked to a spot where you overlook the entire river. After she said yes (and shed some tears of joy), Jennah's dog started running away from them towards another family. Terrified Sam was going to drop the ring (she didn't have it on her finger yet), Jennah jumped and grabbed the leash. She got her dog in time and ended up with rope burn, but received a beautiful ring and a great story to remember and share with friends and loved ones!

As for the planning, from the start, flowers were a big component of the wedding. "My whole family loves flowers," said Jennah. "I especially love wild flowers, like Baby's Breath, Queen Anne's Lace and Wild Daisies -- so they were a huge inspiration." Her favorite color is blue so that was incorporated, along with lovely baby pink flowers into their day. Since the Vintager's Inn has a wonderful barn, the theme was rustic. Everything came together beautifully! We loved all of their special touches -- from the watering can containers to the romantic candles on the tables at the reception and their rustic "Mr." and "Mrs." chair signs.

Looking back on their special day, Jennah said, "My favorite part of my wedding was when almost everyone at the reception joined in a huge circle with their arms around each other and we took turns dancing in the middle to "Wagon Wheel" by Old Crow Medicine Show. I don't think I've ever been that happy in my life."

We wish this wonderful couple a lifetime of happiness! Enjoy these beautiful photos by Mike Topham Photography.
