A Colorful, Classic Wedding with a Twist - Stephanie & Chris

Stephanie Tucker, from Yorktown, VA, and Chris Gross, from Orange County, CA, were married on September 23, 2017 at the beautiful Ford’s Colony Country Club in Williamsburg, Virginia. The ceremony was held on the Golf Courses' Black Heath Hole 1 and the reception was at the Garden Pavilion.

How did this couple from opposite coasts of the country meet? Well, both Stephanie and Chris had recently moved to Houston and they were looking to meet people and expand their networks. They both ended up joining a kickball league, and as fate would have it, were placed on a newbie "free agent" team together.

Stephanie recalled, "During one of the first games, I was playing short stop and Chris was playing center outfield. A ball went up in the air and as I was slowly backing up to try to catch the ball, Chris swooped in and caught it for me! From then on, Chris always had my back." So sweet!

After their game was finished, they started chatting and quickly decided that they wanted to continue to get to know one another. Funny enough, one of the first times they hung out, Chris asked Stephanie where she was from and they learned that both of their parents retired in Virginia - with Chris' parents retiring just up the road from Yorktown in Williamsburg. It's a small world after all!

Fast forward two years later, after getting a cat and Chris temporarily moving to California, Chris proposed to Stephanie on June 4, 2016 and asked her to spend the rest of her life with him.

Next came the planning, and Pinterest played a big part. Stephanie had her head set on a classic/traditional wedding with a twist, inspired by Kate Spade and preppy and traditional touches. At first, Stephanie had a hard time deciding on the color scheme and flowers, and then saw a photo of a dramatic bouquet on Pinterest that inspired it all.
